White linseed oil paint of poor quality can yellow considerably. Linseed oil paint of good quality yellows very little and then only in the absence of daylight e.g. under a flowerpot. The yellow tinge disappears if the patch is exposed to daylight. The phenomenon is partly dependent on the quality of the linseed oil.
